Reflections on Ephesians 2: 6-10

Greetings Brothers and Sisters of Our Lord seated at the Right Hand of God…

Ephesians 2:  And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

It appears from this passage that both, salvation and faith are gifts from God.

Not only is our salvation an act of grace, but also our faith is the work of a continually nudging and prompting Holy Spirit.

God is an attentive, rather than neglectful parent. He is constantly perfecting our character and faith. Our part is to respond!

Our faithful response is to be about the good works as we have been created in Christ to do.

Please note that in these words we find all good, productive, and encouraging words.

God raised us up with Christ (past tense).

Incomparable riches of grace (future.)

God’s handiwork (continuing).

Ever wonder what good works God has prepared in advance for you to do (present)?

Explore the day, look for those opportunities that God will present to you!

Just as Christ has expressed kindness to us, we now have the faith to express kindness to others.
