Children of God…
1 John 3:2 Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is.
3:3 And all who have this hope in him purify
themselves, just as he is pure.
My
goodness we have a lot to look forward to!
As
the Holy Spirit continues the work of sanctification in us, as we experience
trials and sufferings which increase our patience and purity, we can take
comfort in that we will be like Christ!
Therefore…let
us continue to purify ourselves.
Sure,
we have claimed Christ as ours. We are Heaven-bound. But let’s work to be like
Him in likeness so much that people mistake us for him!
And
when they do mistake us for Him, let’s be humble enough to respond…”Oh, no, I’m
not that guy. I ain’t even good enough to tie his shoe-laces!”
Peace
on this day that God has given to rejoice in!
